21 Nov 2016 Training on annotation of transposable elements

Detection and annotation of transposable elements in eukaryote genome

The objectives of this training are:
1. To acquire knowledge on transposable elements
2. To achieve annotation of transposable elements in the genome using the pipeline REPET
3. To be autonomous on your own data.

Location: URGI, INRA Versailles

Dates

November 21-22nd, 2016: module 1
November 23rd, 2016: module 2 (optional)
November 24th, 2016: you are welcomed to stay at URGI to work on your own data (on demand)

Module 1: REPET-Lite

  • Opening presentation on transposable elements
  • The REPET pipelines and strategies of repeat annotation
  • Galaxy overview and practices
  • Launch REPET-lite on Galaxy

Module 2: Manual curation of transposable elements

  • Strategy for manual curation
